No more Common Voice for Kenora

Kenora City Council says its willing to risk expulsion from the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association for not supporting the Common Voice Initiative.

Last night council voted unanimously not to endorse the regional economic development initiative.

Kenora councillor Rory McMillan says as far as he’s concerned, NOMA has failed to involve area first nations as partners in the project.

N005 Q: …to do. (23 secs.)

McMillan says he wrote the president of NOMA back in October asking that Treaty Three and other aboriginal groups be included in the process, but he never received a response.
