NOACC Disappointed With Softwood Decision

It’s not a surprise but it is a disappointment for the Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce.

Chief Operating Officer Charla Robinson feels the U.S. government’s decision to tax Canadian Softwood Lumber is going to hurt area mills.

Robinson says the region’s forest industry just barely got back on its feet and now will have to deal with added costs.

She adds the forest industry is still fragile and our government should provide loans to mills so they can stay in the black.
