The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is pushing it’s case for more autonomy.
President Dave Canfield says he had a good exchange with premier Kathleen Wynne at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference.
Canfield says he’d rather see northwestern Ontario residents make decisions on natural resource planning, than some bureaucrat in Toronto.
He says the north can’t continue to business the way we have.
Canfield notes a strong working relationship between the north and government will help move the province forward.
