NOMA President Urging Government To Not Over React

It’s happened once, it can happen again

Dave Canfield, President of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association, says the province needs to learn from the Nipigon River Bridge failure.

Canfield says there are bridges across the region that could cut Canada in two.

He is urging the government to not over-react and bring in new rules, noting the province is already over regulated.

Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca says the bridge likely won’t re-open to both lanes until the end of February.
