The provincial government made a major funding
announceent for northern highways, almost half a billion
dollars, but the bulk of it will be invested in the
northeastern part of the region.
About one fifth of the money will be used on the
northwest region.
Thunder-Bay Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle says the
Northeast’s share of the money will go towards twinning the
highway from Perry Sound to the North Bay area.

Monday’s announcement includes a new safety enhancement
project for Highway 17 between Thunder Bay and Kenora.
