Northern Ontario Heritage Funding Announced

First Nations communities are among the big winners in the province’s most recent funding announcement.
The government is supporting 5 regional projects under the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
North Caribou Lake First Nation is receiving almost $25,000 for a feasibility study and preliminary design of a community business centre.
The Neskantaga Economic Development Corporation is welcoming nearly $45,000 to investigate economic opportunities associated with the Ring of Fire project.
Fort Hope is receiving the same financial support to explore mining opportunities.
The Whitefeather Forest Community Resource Management Authority is receiving $50,000 to help them identify and market forest products from the timber associated with the Whitefeather Forest initiative.
