Northern Youth Hockey Championships Set For Sioux Lookout/Lac Seul

A new hockey tournament is being established in Sioux Lookout and Lac Seul.

Organizers of the Northern Youth Hockey Championships stress the event is all about respectful play and sportsmanship.

Chris Lawson says they want to grow the tournament to be a competitive one, with the focus on health, education and careers.

The tournament is scheduled for February 8th to the 14th, the same week as the Little Bands tournament in Dryden.

Lawson stresses he’s not in it for personal gain or profit, he just wants another opportunity for youth.

Tournament Details:
Six age divisions: Novice, Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget, and Juvenile.
Minimum of 4 and Maximum of 6 teams per division.
800 dollars per team per division which guarantees 5 games.
