NOSM Works On Elder Council

The Aboriginal Affairs Unit of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine are discussing the future of the school’s council of elders.

Over the past 10 years the school has developed relationships with more than 20 elders who each have special gifts for working with community members.

At a recent meeting in Thunder Bay they decided the council will now be made up of 8 people, four women and four men and they’ll be guided by the traditional Seven Grandfather teachings.
