Two Quebec men have been fined $1,500 each for the illegal party hunting of white-tailed deer, about 10-kilometres east of Vermilion Bay.
The men claimed they were hunting with another family member who had a valid white-tailed deer hunting licence.
The hunters made several attempts to contact the tag holder, but were unsuccessful.
An investigation revealed the tag holder was at home and was not hunting.
29-year-old Yandro Briere and 40-year-old Sylvain Clement have both been banned from hunting in Ontario for one year.
