NWHU Violence #1

The Northwestern Health Unit has launched a new program

that will help protect women from emotional, physical and

sexual abuse.

In the New Year, public health nurses working at the

NWHU’s sexual health clinics in Kenora, Dryden, Fort

Frances and Sioux Lookout will be trained to ask all

patients over the age of 12 is they’re being abused.

Kathleen Fitzgerald says they’ll start their training in

the Spring of 2008.

Q:”…it.” 24 seconds

Most of the people who visit the clinics are women, but

male clients will also be screened for violence.
