NWHU Violence #2

The Northwestern Health Unit plans to launch a new anti-

abuse program in the New Year.

Public health nurses working at sexual health clinics in

Kenora, Dryden, Fort Frances and Sioux Lookout will ask

clients over the age of 12, if they’re being abused.

Spokesperson Kathleen Fitzgerald says the program will

help protect women from emotional, physical and sexual

abuse.

Q:”…question.” 24 seconds

Training will start in the Spring of 2008.

Most of the people who visit the clinics are women, but

male clients will also be screened for violence.
