Jeanne McDonald

June 30, 1951 – August 16, 2021
In loving memory of Edra (Jeanne) McDonald who passed away on August 16 2021. Jeanne was born in Fort Frances Ontario on June 30, 1951 to parents Jean and Orville Lougheed and raised on a farm in Barwick along with four brothers, William ( Charlotte ), Grant (Lorette ), Lester ( Ellen ), and Glenn. The family moved to Kenora when she was in her teens where she completed high school.
After high school she went to the Lakehead School of Nursing where she graduated in 1972. Her first job was in Red Lake with Northwestern Health Unit with whom she remained employed until she retired and also where she met her husband Morley of 48 years,. After moving to Ear Falls, their only child Graham ( Laura ) was born. Jeanne is also survived by her grand daughter Sofia, her mother Jean and her four bothers as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Jeanne was one of the most compassionate people you would ever meet. Besides taking care of people in her daily job she also gave countless hours of her time dedicated to looking after the needs of her family. She always put everyone else’s needs ahead of her own. Somehow she managed to find time to become an excellent cook, enjoying making gourmet meals on special occasions and also being known for her excellent jams and jellies. Cooking was not her only passion; Jeanne also loved gardening, bringing with her the skills she learned as a child in Barwick.
Her love of all animals led to numerous dogs, cats, rabbits and even a raven becoming part of her family, A stray had no idea how good it’s life was about to become.
Jeanne will be missed by all the people that she touched throughout her life, her family and especially by her special granddaughter Sofia.
A special thanks to all of the nurses and Doctors that took excellent care of her in the area hospitals. Cremation has taken place and a private gathering at the Quibell cemetry will take place at a later date.
Jeanne, we love you.
