The month of October in the Dryden area was the second coldest one since 2001.
Bill Laidlaw of Signal Weather Services says the average temperature was 1.7, noting that’s about three degrees below normal.
Laidlaw says the coldest day in October was on the 17th at -8.5.
You only had to wait a couple of hours as the warmest day was on the 18th with the mercury reaching a high of 14.6.
Unofficial precipitation figures at the Dryden Airport averaged around 48-millimetres.
However, Laidlaw admits those numbers may not be entirely accurate.
He notes the gauge at the Dryden Airport doesn’t record snowfall.
In comparison, Ear Falls recorded 88-millimetres, Ignace 86mm and Fort Frances 85-millimetres.
