A cool weather system moving through the region is expected to provide some relief to the escalated forest fire hazard situation in northwestern Ontario.
The hazard is extreme in most parts of the region, with 103 active fires currently burning.
23 are considered not under control.
Tuesday, it was a little quieter with just six new wild fires reported, none in the Dryden District.
Fires within Woodland Caribou Provincial Park in the Red Lake area has resulted in the closure of canoe routes to back country paddlers and access to a number of lakes in the park has also been restricted.
