It was a special day for Dryden’s Chris Pronger.
Pronger was inducted into the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame at a special ceremony Saturday night in Thunder Bay.
Pronger is one of hockey’s most decorated defensive stars.
He played in 1,167 NHL regular season games with five teams, recording 157-goals and 541-assists.
Pronger won the 1999-2000 Hart and Norris trophies and hoisted the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007.
He won gold for Canada at the 1997 World Championships and 2002 and 2010 Olympics.
Pronger was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.
He joins John Jones, Bob ‘Battleship’ Kelly, Lou Kok, Ab Cava and Irene MacLeay as the 2017 Inductees.
