Ontario Health Minister Eric Hoskins says his government is being pro-active in its response to a health care emergency declared by first nations leaders in northern Ontario.
Hoskins says they will be sitting down next week with aboriginal leaders and federal reps to discuss their concerns.
He notes they want to work with First Nations and the feds on a collaborative plan to address health care issues.
Hoskins says he’s already been in discussions with Chief Alvin Fiddler and Regional Chief Isadore Day.
He adds he’s eager to see if Tuesday’s federal budget will address the concerns of regional aboriginal leaders.
