Ontario Premier Addresses Sex Ed Program And Sale Of Hydro One

The Premier of Ontario is out defending the province’s new sex education curriculum.

Protests were held at MPP offices across Ontario on Thursday.

Kathleen Wynne says Ontario is way behind others when it comes to teaching sex ed and keeping kids safe.

She notes the curriculum hasn’t been updated since 1998 and new technology forced them to make changes.

On another topic and despite widespread opposition, Kathleen Wynne is sticking to her guns and going ahead with the sale of Hydro One.

Even the government’s own internal polls show 73% of Ontario residents oppose the sale.

Wynne says they need the proceeds to support much-needed infrastructure improvements in the province.

She notes infrastructure funding is what’s needed in northern Ontario.

Wynne says the goal is also to make Hydro One a more effective and efficient corporation.

She made the comments during a stop in Kenora this week.
