Ontario Premier Won’t Call Snap Election

Premier Kathleen Wynne says she has no intention of moving up the date of a provincial election.

Wynne held a press conference about sexual assault allegations against former PC leader Patrick Brown Thursday morning.

She says right now, this isn’t about politics, stressing she’s not about to call a snap vote in the wake of the Conservatives leadership void.

We are scheduled to go to the polls on June 7th.

Meantime, the PC party says they will pick an Interim leader Friday.

Wynne says her government has taken action to ensure Queen’s Park is a safe environment for staff members and MPP’s, but believes there is always more that can be done.

She says it’s really important right now to understand how deeply troubling this is to human beings, noting this is about creating safety.
