OPP Respond to Boating Fatalities

OPP are growing concerned over the number of fatalities on area waterways this summer.
In total, Lake of the Woods, Eagle Lake and Howey Bay have claimed the lives of 5 people and seriously injured 1.
Constable Sue Cain says people should be extra careful when heading out for a good time.
Cain offers the public this advice: all boaters must wear a lifejacket, tell someone what course you plan to take, make sure the vessel is in perfect working condition and make sure you have safety equipment on board.
Cain says in most cases this summer, victims were not wearing a PFD.
