The opposition leaders are promising a national inquiry into murdered and missing aboriginal woman if they win the next federal election.
Both Thomas Mulcair of the NDP and Justin Trudeau of the Liberals are making the pledge.
Trudeau says it’s part of his promise to implement all the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
He says they will launch the probe right away and it will be fully inclusive and designed at finding justice for the victims and healing for their families.
Mulcair promised a national inquiry within 100 days of taking office if the NDP form the next federal government.
