The father of a paramedic killed in an Ornge air ambulance crash in northwestern Ontario says his son died doing the
work he loved best.
John Snowball says his son, Chris, was the sort of person who always wanted to help those in need.
He says his 38-year-old son had been working as a paramedic inNova Scotia and Ontario for the past 19 years.
He had long aspired to work for Ornge and had worked a series of three-month contracts, but was a week away from starting a more stable assignment in Thunder Bay.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
Snowball and three other Ornge employees died Friday when their Sikorsky S76 helicopter crashed shortly after leaving its base in Moosonee en route to Attawapiskat to pick up a patient.
The other victims were identified as Capt. Don Filliter of Skead, Ontario, First Officer Jacques Dupuy, of Otterburn-Park, Quebec and paramedic Dustin Dagenais, of Moose Factory, Ontario.
