Search Continues For Plane And Crew In Red Lake

The Ontario Provincial Police Marine Unit continues its search for a missing float plane and crew in Red Lake.
Transportation Safety Board Spokesperson Peter Hildebrand says a Beech 18 float plane went down in the Bruce Channel shortly after take-off around 5:20 yesterday.
Hildebrand says the plane hit the water, broke apart and sank.
Hildebrand notes two TSB investigators should arrive in the Red Lake area this afternoon to begin their investigation.
OPP believe a man and a woman from the United States were the only occupants of the float plane.
There identities aren’t known at this time.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit is expected to arrive at the scene late today or early tomorrow morning.
