Parking Meters Could be Suspended

City Council will be asked Monday to approve the suspension of parking meters for a 1 year trial period effective January 1st, 2005.
Use of the meters would be replaced by a 2 hour time limit which will be enforced by parking staff.
The fine for violating the 2 hour limit would be $25 dollars but cut to $20 within 7 days.
Plans call for the meters to remain in place during the 1 year trial period, but they will be bagged and signage will indicate the time limit.
