Pikangikum signs Whitefeather agreement

It took 10 years, but the Pikangikum First Nation has finally signed an land use agreement for the Whitefeather Forest.

Whitefeather is 1.2 million hectares in size and lies to the north of the first nation community.

Karan Aquino is an advisory for the Whitefeather initiative and says there are still a number of steps they have to take before they can begin any actual forestry activity.

Aboriginal Affairs Minister David Ramsay was also on hand for the signing ceremony this week in Pikangikum.
