Plans for Abattoir Moving Along

Regional farmers have partnered with the Rainy River Future
Development Corporation in hopes of building an Abattoir in the District.
Economic Developer Geoff Gillon says new regulations keep increasing
the costs of the facility especially in the design phase.
Gillon adds a market assessment for an Abattoir has already been
completed and the group is now working with cattle farmers on a business
plan for the facility.
He notes the Abattoir will be built to Federal standards although
initially it will be run as a Provincial facility.
