All parties involved in the mining dispute between Platinex and the KI
First Nation in Northwestern Ontario are being ordered back to the
bargaining table.
An Ontario Superior Court Judge extended its July order to cease the
company’s drilling on the traditional land formerly known as Big Trout Lake.
First Nation Spokesperson John Cutfeet says he was surprised the
Provincial Government joined discussions Tuesday.
Cutfeet says the Province has come forward with
possible funding for the First Nation to hold consultations.
He feels the Government left it to the last minute to join the
negotiations.
