Two people are in custody, but no formal charges have been laid following a police pursuit on Highway 17 between Kenora and Vermilion Bay.
The incident started around 9 o’clock Thursday morning, when Provincial Police attempted to stop a speeding vehicle.
The SUV failed to stop leading to a brief chase.
Police called off the pursuit due to public safety and the vehicle proceeded to avoid two different spike belts.
OPP say the SUV finally left the road near Triangle Lake around 10 o’clock and came to a stop in a ditch.
Police say a man and a woman attempted to leave the scene on foot but they were apprehended.
OPP learned the vehicle was reported stolen in Saskatchewan, with stolen plates from Alberta.
The car was also involved in the theft of fuel in Falcon Lake, Manitoba.
