A tough start to the Telus Cup West Regional Midget Hockey Championship for the Kenora Thistles.
The Thistles dropped their opener against the host Saskatoon Contacts 7-3 Thursday night in their opening game.
Dryden’s Matthew Pitchenese and Trey Palermo scored for Kenora.
The Thistles are back in action Friday afternoon against the Winnipeg Wild.
The Manitoba champions are coming off a 3-1 win against Notre Dame.
