Thousands of Sunset Country residents have forgot about work and have begun celebrating the civic holiday long weekend.
With the extended weekend comes delays on Northwestern Ontario highways.
Dryden OPP Sergeant Chuck Wesley says officers will be out in full force this holiday weekend.
Wesley says the civic holiday is one of the busiest times of the year for police.
He says OPP have a heightened patrol out on the highways and will be more visible to the public.
There were four fatal motor vehicle collisions on provincial highways last civic holiday.
Three of which involved alcohol.
