Police will be out in full force the next couple of days to ensure back to school time is a safe time across the region.
Fines have now doubled for failing to stop or yield at a crosswalk or passing a bus with its flashing lights on.
Dryden Police Chief Doug Palson urges motorists to slow down as kids are often excited and not paying attention early on.
Palson says they will also be hitting social media to promote pedestrian and crosswalk safety as well as community safety zones.
He warns of extra patrols and enforcement around schools.
