Officials at the Thunder Bay Airport are calling it a precautionary landing.
They say that at about 11:20 this morning the captain of a Westjet flight heading to Toronto from Edmonton said he was going to land at the airport.
Emergency crews were put on stand-by including the Thunder Bay Fire Service, but they were not needed as the plane landed safely.
Our newsroom is told there was an indication of smoke in the plane, which may have been the result of a burned out LED light in one of the washrooms.
No one was hurt.
