The Ontario Public Service Employees Union continues its regional campaign to stop privatization.
A demonstration was held outside a Kathleen Wynne speaking engagement in Thunder Bay Monday.
Sandra Snider says the Liberals didn’t get elected to sell Hydro One and stresses they wouldn’t have been elected if they ran on that promise.
However, the Premier isn’t budging on her plans to sell a portion of Hydro One.
Wynne stressed she’s been clear about broadening the ownership of the Crown Corporation.
She says the move is all about creating a better and more efficient service, noting Hydro One doesn’t have best reputation right now.
Meantime, Wynne says the province will continue to work with Grassy Narrows on the issue of mercury poisoning.
She says there’s outstanding questions on who should be included in compensation packages.
Wynne notes Health Canada has now agreed to be part of the on-going working group on finding a solution.
