There are plenty of lessons to learn from a tragic 2014 seniors home fire in Quebec that killed 32 and injured 15.
The tragic blaze in L’isle Verte was discussed at the recent Northwest Response Forum in Dryden.
Riviere-du-Loup Fire Chief Eric Bérubé says more preparation, prevention and training were the main lessons learned from the event.
He adds the disaster also showcased a need for improved post traumatic stress services in Canada.
Two firefighters were injured during the rescue operation.
He says all homes should have a proper evacuation plan in the event of an emergency.
