A police led initiative that identifies innovative solutions to the root causes of youth crime, social disorder and crisis continues to gain momentum in Dryden.
OPP Constable Anne McCoy was at New Prospect School Monday to further promote the ‘Project Sunset’ program.
The initiative is a joint venture between OPP and Dryden Police as well as other partners.
Students attended the Mavis Trail system for a fire making demonstration, aimed at learning new skills and reflecting on the importance of resilience building.
McCoy says the goal of Project Sunset is improve life and decision making skills.
She notes the initiative is aimed at identifying the skills and strengths of local youth and to build on them.
McCoy stresses they want youth to have the ability to have control over their own life and their environment.
She notes the ultimate goal is building sustainable communities.
