Province Assists in Merger

A merger of Kenora-Patricia Child and Family Services and Family and Children’s Services of the District of Rainy River can now go ahead.
The Province has announced that it will cover the costs of amalgamation as well as the 2010 deficit and historical debt of Rainy River.
The exact numbers are not known, however Kenora-Patricia Executive Director Bill Leonard calls it a “considerable sum of money”.
The amalgamation is now expected to take 6 to 8 weeks to complete.
