Ontario is rolling out a program that will provide early screening for women as young as 30 who are at high risk of contracting breast cancer.
Health Minister Deb Matthews says the program is aimed at helping women 30 to 49 who may be predisposed to the illness because of genetic factors or family history.
The plan will provide about 90,000 more breast cancer screening exams and is part of a $15-million investment announced in the 2011 budget.
The strategy will kick off July 1 at 19 sites,
