Province Looking At The Way It Conducts Death Investigations

The Ontario Government is looking for the feedback on how it investigates deaths.

The Liberals are looking at proposed changes that they feel would strengthen the accountability and transparency of the process.

The changes will enable the Death Investigation Oversight Council to make recommendations to the Chief Coroner on whether a discretionary inquest is called.

The Council is in charge of Ontario’s coroners and forensic pathologists, and already administers a public complaints process.
