The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is showing improvement in reading, writing and math skills.
The Education Quality and Accountability Office is out with the latest test results for grade 3 and 6 students.
The number of students at or above the provincial standard is up across the board compared to last year.
The biggest improvement for the Board was seen in writing; with Grade 3 results going up 9% to 59% and Grade 6 results jumping 7-percentage points to 64%.
The Board is still below the provincial average.
Results:
Grade 3 Reading: Board 50% (2012-2013 46%); Province 70%
Grade 3 Writing: Board 59% (2012-2013 50%); Province 78%
Grade 3 Math: Board 51% (2012-2013 50%); Province 67%
Grade 6 Reading: Board 67% (2012-2013 62%); Province 79%
Grade 6 Writing: Board 64% (2012-2013 57%); Province 78%
Grade 6 Math: Board 39% (2012-2013 38%); Province 54%
