The demands for an apology from a Liberal MPP continue at Queen’s Park.
Lou Rinaldi was heard referring to northern Ontario as “No Man’s Land” last week.
Sault Ste. Marie’s Ross Romano says the comments only confirm that the Liberals don’t care about this region.
He calls it a direct attack on the north and proves the government believes that the people of northern Ontario don’t matter.
Deputy Premier Deb Matthews is defending the Northumberland-Quinte West MPP, noting he’s a true leader and she’s proud to be associated with him.
In a letter to CKDR News, Rinaldi says he was addressing remarks to MPP Vic Fedeli and made the comment that he was in “No Man’s Land,” referring specifically to him being completely alone in his opinion about legislative changes to the Election Finances Act.
Norm Miller was giving a speech on the north when the comments were heard.
