Sunset Country Stroke patients will soon be available to receive help and treatment close to home.
A Secondary Stroke Prevention Clinic is being set up at Thunder Bay’s Health Sciences Centre.
Program Coordinator Diane Hiscox says the Clinic will be open to the entire Region and will be instrumental in implementing prevention strategies for the 3rd leading cause of death in Canada.
Hiscox adds they hope to establish a video-conferencing network and set up satellite offices across Sunset County.
The facility should be ready in 3 months.
More than 16,000 people in Ontario suffer strokes annually.
