The City of Dryden is being urged to put fluoride back into the municipal water supply.
Dr. Peter Cooney is the Dental Consultant for the Northwestern Health Unit and he says the rate of tooth decay among Dryden area children has risen since fluoride was removed from the Cities water supply 3 years ago.
Last year, Council turned down a motion to put fluoride back in because of a lack of funds.
Cooney says it would cost $50,000 to make the necessary upgrades.
A new report shows that all Dryden Elementary Schools except for St. Joseph’s are now at a high risk of decay.
