Good news as we approach the final long weekend of Summer.
A Restricted Fire Zone in northwestern Ontario has been lifted.
Outdoor fires are now allowed.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says all fires should be carefully managed.
Information Officer Chris Marchand reminds the public that daytime burning of brush and grass is not allowed.

Cooler temperatures and recent wet weather have reduced the fire hazard.
Marchand cautions they will be closely monitoring the situation across the region as we head into Labour Day weekend.
There are 53 active fires in the region, four considered not under control.
The fire hazard is moderate to low.
