Sense Of Optimism For International Falls Mayor

Some optimism in International Falls about the planned ownership change of its major employer.
Packaging Corporation of America purchased Boise Inc. in a $2-billion deal announced Monday.
International Falls Mayor Bob Anderson feels there will be benefits that will help the paper mill.
Anderson admits the sale did take him a little off guard, but says rumours were swirling about a possible buyer.
Bob Anderson is hoping the deal won’t lead to layoffs but notes they will continue on their current path of economic diversification.
Boise announced plans in May to shut down two of the mills paper machines by next month, effecting about 265 workers.
