A moment of pride for two hockey players with ties to northwestern Ontario.
Thunder Bay’s Patrick Sharp and Duncan Keith, who played his minor hockey in Fort Frances, have both been selected to play for Canada at the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Sharp says making Team Canada has always been a personal goal of his.
He believes he has done enough over the last four years to earn a spot, but stresses he wasn’t expecting anything.
Sharp says he’s happy for his family and is excited about the opportunity.
Duncan Keith says the selection is a huge honour and a very special moment.
