Sioux Lookout Budget

It took a lot of patience and some work but Sioux Lookout Council has finally passed its 2003 budget.
Taxpayers will see a 1.88% increase on their bill, however the number could have been much higher if not for a 10% reduction in education rates.
CAO John Baird says council did a good job to maintain financial control for now and the future, considering they are still affected by Provincial downloading and increased financial demands.
Since 1998, Municipal property tax rates have only increased 4.4%.
