International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew is talking tough about the Canada-US softwood lumber dispute.
Pettigrew says he wants “free access to the American market” and he isn’t interested in the idea of an export tax on softwood lumber, even if its temporary.
But Pettigrew isn’t ruling it out as a way to prevent US duties from being re-imposed on Canadian softwood exports March 21st.
