An MP from Southern Ontario is now responsible for the Federal Northern Ontario Development or FedNor program.
With the new Liberal cabinet, there is no stand alone Minister responsible for FedNor.
The profile is now under the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development, which is headed by Mississauga-Malton MP Navdeep Singh Bains.
In former cabinets under the Conservatives, FedNor was typically headed up by a member from Northern Ontario.
