It’s a week of celebration at St. John School in Red Lake as students and staff recognize Catholic Education Week.
A number of activities have already taken place, with more planned throughout the week.
Students Olivia Ewen and Ben Baranesky joined CKDR News this week to talk about their school, programming and staff.
They encouraged their fellow peers to take advantage of a Book Fair being held all week at the school.
St. John will also be hosting its 6th Annual Leadership Day Wednesday with a performance at 11:30am, along with an Expo.
Ewen loves how much people are accepting to everyone in the school and how staff are always asking students how they are doing.
She adds her teachers are great, stressing they have been trained well in math, leadership and other subjects, noting they are great at what they do.
Baranesky says they get to learn new things at the school that will help them prepare for high school, university and even a future job.
He calls his instructors “awesome” and the school “amazing”, noting he’s grateful to be attending St. John.
