The axe is starting to fall in Dryden.
City Manager Joe van Koeverden says they’ve come up with roughly $500,000 in staff reductions across the board.
He says those cuts will start right away but wouldn’t go into specifics.
There’s also no word on if the Dryden Development Corporation is affected.
Van Koeverden says they’ve also reduced the capital budget by $155,000.
He says those projects will be held over for another year.
The City needs to find $1-million in savings following the mill reassessment.
Officials have arranged a meeting with the President of MPAC in Toronto next week to discuss the assessment and its impact on the community.
