Stewart Lake Lodge Suffers Major Damage In Fire

Provincial Police are investigating the cause of a fire that gutted the Stewart Lake lodge and gas station.

The blaze was reported around 9:00 o’clock Sunday night.

Machin Fire Services was initially contacted and the Longbow Lake Volunteer Fire Department was called out for mutual aid.

Crews were on site until about 3:00 Monday morning, but were called out again around 8:00am to deal with some hot spots that had reignited.

The Stewart Lake lodge is 25-kilometres west of Vermilion Bay on Highway 17.
